Visit to the Wilson Room, Multnomah County Library

On Wednesday, May 19th, we will meet in the Wilson Room at Multnomah County Library. The Wilson Room is a rare book, manuscript, and special collection library. We will meet in downtown Portland at the Central Library at 6:45 p.m. 801 S.W. 10th Avenue
Portland, OR 97205, 503.988.5123. Bring a notebook as you will be transcribing a passage from one of the books we will be looking at. Bring some form of I.D. as well--driver's license, student i.d. etc.

Jim Carmin, curator for the Wilson Room, will present some of the highlights of the collection to our class. As Jim is staying after hours to provide this service, please be sure to be prompt and to be present for this class. Look up on google maps ahead of time to figure out how to get there and allow time to find parking downtown. Plan to get to downtown by 6:30 to allow this to happen. We want to extend every courtesy to Jim by making this class and time a priority. We are so fortunate to have this resource in the Portland area--after our visit, you are welcome to return to the Wilson Room to make use of the materials!

Franklin's Tale

Discussion of the Franklin's Tale

Choose one of the four study questions, and post your response as a comment to this post. Write at least a full paragraph, and be sure to cite at least one passage in the text to support the point you are making. Then, read at least one other student's post and add a specific response to that post that engages with their idea (in other words, don't just say, "I agree.") Let's get a good discussion of the Franklin's Tale going. I will be in Kalamazoo, but will check the blog by Friday and add some comments over the weekend.
